Perfect timing!

Missionaries and ESL students

Dear Family and Friends,

This week hasn’t been as busy as previous weeks--mostly because my car broke down and I had to deal with that for a couple of days.  I feel so blessed that it broke down in my parking lot and not on some lonely road late at night.  I live alone.  I mostly travel alone.  I drive great distances, rural and urban (usually rural.)  I was in my own parking lot the evening my car decided to quit.  What a blessing!  God’s timing is always perfect!

Earlier in the day I had gone to a mission Zone Conference.  I’m glad my car quit after and not before the conference.  I wouldn’t have wanted to miss seeing my young friends with whom I serve and who are so full of the love of the Lord!

Anyway, after a couple days, my car was up and running and I was able to help with family history, teaching English, and teaching the gospel.  Yay!

However, after MUCH thought and prayer, I have decided that it is time for me to go home from my mission.  My soon-to-be 89 year old step-mother needs someone to live with her and I am more than happy for this opportunity.  If I have learned anything about service, it has probably come from her example.

When I received my mission call, the letter stated, “Your purpose will be to help others come unto Christ by serving them as the Savior would. As you serve with all your heart, might, mind, and strength, you will feel the joy that comes from giving of yourself to lift others.”  It has certainly been a joy to serve my friends in North Carolina.

Thanks for your encouragement, letters, emails, texts, and prayers.  They were always just what I needed, exactly when I needed them.  (Talk about timing!)

I love you all!
