The Field is White

Dear family & friends,   The good news is that we will soon have more work to do.  Thank you for your prayers   On Friday my companion and I were assigned to a second ward!  We had previously been serving in just the Zebulon Ward.  Now we are also serving in the Knightdale Ward!  Yes, today I attended Zebulon ward and then drove to Knightdale to attend their ward.     The RS President of Knightdale Ward is excited to have us.  She wants us to teach/facilitate Self Reliance Classes, a midweek Come Follow Me study group, and hopefully a Family history group.  Her theory is that if we are supposed to Love, Share, and Invite others to church, then we need to have something to invite them to!  Yay!   Thursday we had a very uplifting Zone conference, except that I felt like a total imposter because I haven’t been doing much missionary work.  I attached a photo of a fie...

Onward Christian Soldiers!

Image
9/13/2021 Hello Family & Friends!   It has been an eventful week.  Here are some of our activities:  My companion and I are getting better at contacting people.  Two people asked for our phone number so they could call us back!  But when we told the Elders, they told us that when people say that, they have no intention of calling back.  A scripture came to mind:   ‘Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward.  Courage , brethren; and on, on to the victory!” (D&C 128:22)   We also had our first experience with a grumpy guy  who told us to go away and not come back. We apologized and left.  As we drove home, my companion and I sang “Onward Christian Soldiers.”  I realized later that we should have told him that we loved him.  The way people treat you is usually a reflection of how they feel about themselves.  Next time we meet ...

Lost and Found

Sept 5, 2021   Hello family & friends!   Monday, August 30 - Most days my companion and I spend a lot of time driving around in our VERY LARGE ward looking up inactive or overlooked members.  It’s easy to get lost especially when our phones get no cell reception  And I gotta say that even when we do find an address, the people are either not home or don’t answer.  So I sometimes wonder if our efforts are worth it.   But today two persons invited us in and we were able to share a message   And another woman, who only spoke Spanish, wanted to attend church in Spanish but didn’t know if there was a Spanish Ward.  I was glad I could converse with her and get her connected with the missionaries from the Spanish Ward!   In the evening we helped teach ESL.  After the ESL lessons, the sisters always share a scripture, bear testimony, and close with prayer.  Today, Hermana Morales shared the scri...
