Dear Family and Friends,

This morning in our Come Follow Me discussion group, my friend Crystal in her opening prayer thanked God for the air we breathe.  It made me think of the song “My Country Tis of Thee” which says,

Let music swell the breeze

And ring from all the trees,

Sweet freedom’s song;

Let mortal tongues awake;

Let all that breathe partake;

Let rocks their silence break,

The sound prolong.

I thought of these words because of some of the people I have met.

Last Thursday in addition to taking food to refugees, I was able to give a ride to one small family from Guinea.  A woman and her daughters, fleeing a dangerous situation came here with the wrong type of visas and therefore, do not qualify for refugee services.  An organization I work with was able to pay for a few nights in a hotel. I drove them to the hotel.  I don’t know how long they can stay or how they will provide for themselves.  I pray they can find peace and safety.

On Friday, I went with Hermana Villacres & Hermana Campbell to teach one of our friends who (like many others) works here in North Carolina and sends money to his wife and children in Mexico so that they can have a better life.  I don’t know if being raised without a father is a better life, but life is full of difficult decisions. I pray they can be united.

And I have several friends who because of health problems are unable to breathe freely.

 I’m thankful for every breath, for this free country, and mostly for my Savior Jesus Christ who made it possible for everyone to not only live again, but to be exalted to live with Him and all the people we love.  The last verse in the book of Psalms expresses how I feel, “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.”

Keep breathing.

I love you all,

 Sister Manwaring

PS. Sorry I neglected to send a letter last week.  I couldn’t think of anything interesting to write aboutL
