Seeing the best

Dear Family and Friends,
It was a beautiful Holy week. I was blessed to be able to help with our church’s Easter Celebration. Scenes from the last week in the Savior’s life were portrayed. There were musical performers, a Christ-centered art gallery (the kid art was my favorite.) They also had interactive rooms. I helped in the olive press room, the palm room, and the Passover room. It was fun and interesting. For example, did you know that olive trees take about seven years to reach full fruit production and can continue to produce fruit for hundreds of years? It helped me appreciate the allegory of the olive trees.
Another interesting activity was helping my friend Sheri practice navigating with her white cane. She had me take her to downtown Zebulon to practice. She could tell by the sound of the traffic when the lights changed! She had me film her so that she could send it to her teacher who is helping her become more confident in her mobility. After that we went to the grocery store and shopped together. She gets around quite well and is very cheerful and kind. She might not see physically, but she always sees the best in people. I think that’s the best kind of sight.
I am grateful for my Savior who overcame sin and death, and who sees the best in all of us.
I love you all,
Sister Manwaring
